We collect the following information:

  • Waitlist email addresses — voluntarily submitted through the waitlist form on our website. We collect only your email address.
  • Cookies — small text files stored on your device to maintain functionality. See Section 8 for details.

We do not collect personal information through any other means. We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Waitlist emails — used solely to notify you about early access availability and important updates about the Service. We will not send unsolicited marketing emails.
  • Session cookies — used to maintain your authentication state and persist your preferences during a browsing session.

3. Data Storage

Waitlist data is stored in application files hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. We do not use a third-party database service for waitlist data. Session data is stored either in application files or via Upstash Redis (a managed key-value store) when configured.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. Your email address is used exclusively by civilian.design for the purposes described in this policy.

6. Data Retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until early access is granted or until you request removal. Session data is retained for up to one year from your last visit and is automatically deleted thereafter.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Request removal from our waitlist
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

8. Cookies

LATEST uses the following cookies:

  • auth — Authentication cookie. HttpOnly, secure in production. Expires after 30 days. Used to maintain your logged-in state.
  • session-id — Session identifier. HttpOnly, secure in production. Expires after 1 year. Used to associate your taste preferences with your session.
  • is-authenticated — Client-readable authentication flag. Not HttpOnly. Expires after 30 days. Used by the interface to determine which features to display.

We also use browser localStorage to store a waitlist-submitted flag, which prevents the waitlist form from being displayed after you have already submitted your email. This is not a cookie and is not transmitted to our servers.

We do not use any third-party cookies, tracking cookies, or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
